Daisy Dewhurst – Forageplus employee is our senior business assistant and works in the office, organising the samples to be sent to the labs, sending analysis reports back to customers, taking telephone orders and messages, and tracking and packing customers orders for horse supplements in the warehouse.
She has the following to say about her passion about horses:
I am mad about horses.
I am originally from Ruthin, North Wales where my mother, sister and I used to own a family run riding school business. I have always had the opportunity to ride and have ridden from as soon as I could hold onto the saddles handle (… and at this point my little Palomino 11hh – Honey Bee – taught me the importance of holding onto this handle as to avoid unwillingly parting ways with each other).
I come from a large family with three brothers and two sisters, (luckily for my mum though only two of her children were obsessed with horses!). I have graduated from Cardiff University, with a degree in Human Geography and Planning, however working at Forageplus allows me to share my work with my passion: HORSES.
I have always been around horses and love learning about how different approaches suit different horses, through handling, riding and feeding. I am also very interested in improving and developing my riding to push myself to compete higher. I own a 16.3hh Warmblood called Dazzler, we compete in unaffiliated dressage at the moment and in 2014 Dazzler and I were the Unaffiliated Novice Champions and Reserve Champion at Elementary level. Dazzler is a quirky horse but he is also my one in a million and I wouldn’t have him any other way.
When I’m not riding or spending time with my horses (this is rare …), I am usually spending time with my family, friends or shooting.
I love shooting, and all of the different aspects that go along with it such as beating, supporting charity clay days and learning about different gun dogs and the training they require. I am a very outdoorsy person so any opportunity to be out and about I definitely take advantage of.
