Additional Information

Forageplus recommends the feeding of additional micronised linseed with this horse feed balancer as horses on a predominantly hay/haylage diet, due to grass sensitivity, will some essential fatty aids adding to their diet.  Fatty acids such as omega 3 are reduced in the hay curing process. This balancer will ensure good levels of the essential fat omega-3 to maintain and support excellent health, strong hooves and work with the body’s natural anti-inflammatory processes.

Good-doer horses on a controlled hay-only diet will need vital nutrients added to the diet due to careful, successful management of grass intake and weight issues.

I decided to try my horse barefoot last year. I started feeding this just after, his hooves have become stronger for it. Wouldn’t buy anything else now.

  2. Michael (verified owner)

Very good balancer, been using this for two years now, noticed a big difference…

  3. Frances Taylor (verified owner)

All my rescue Shetland ponies who have had a terrible start in life (mostly starvation or very early weaning) are on this now 24/7. It is a necessity in their diet.

  4. Tracy Scott (verified owner)

Since recovering from laminitis my shetland is thriving on this balancer, I have tried many others over the years but his feet are the best they have ever been. My equine podiatrist is amazed at how healthy his feet are now.

  5. Rhona Campbell (verified owner)

Super product, my mare really enjoys and reassuring to know she is getting what she needs while on soaked hay.

  6. Charlotte Bird (verified owner)

Good product, nice to know my horses are getting everything they need.

  7. Monika Rudin-Burgess (verified owner)

started on this product a month ago, easy transition from previous food, palatable to the horses in a feed of beet. One horse has Insulin Resistenz and had laminitis last year, moved away from an unsuitable balancer, despite saying suitable for laminitic horses, to the laminae plus. Finally peace of mind that my horse gets what she needs.

  8. michael blake (verified owner)

Used this product for about a year. My farrier is happy with the effect on my horse’s hoofs and recommends this product.

  9. Katie Adamson (verified owner)

Another great product from forage plus. I used this initially before switching to the hoof and skin balancer.

  10. Alexa Barnett (verified owner)

Both my ponies have been on this for a couple of months now and have done really well on this. Their hoof health has dramatically improved and growth of their feet has increased. Really pleased as one has struggled with lami and the other has EMS so lovely to see their feet improving.

  11. orange (verified owner)

Excellent nutritional balancer, most especially for those sensitive and compromised equines. Along with feeding correct forage, exercise and regular trimming we are seeing strong, healthy, new tight growth in our barefoot herd. Would never use anything else. Highly recommend this product.

  12. Caroline Johnson (verified owner)

An absolutely brilliant product for my native horse and pony. It’s made an amazing difference to their hooves and coats.

  13. Jennie Stickland (verified owner)

Amazing product, my elderly EMS, PPID mare was not growing any foot after a bad episode of laminitis, for over a year she just wasn’t growing any. After being on this balancer we are nearly at the point of being able to stop the glue on shoes as she has a foot!! She’s looking so well and happy. Thank you forage plus. x

  14. Zeb Graham-Howard

Was advised to feed a balancer had me baffled regarding the volume advised. Found forageplus and have not looked back

  15. Heather Caddick (verified owner)

Fab balancer! Have been using for a couple of years since we transitioned our boys to barefoot. Two natives who are extremely good doers, so are constantly on a restricted diet, and this balancer keeps them looking great and their feet fantastic.

  16. Sam Bull (verified owner)

3 weeks in on this balancer and my pony who I’ve owned since weaning, (now16) has never ever kicked his door, he does every morning and night for his feed now, easily mixes in with Speedibeet. Will be continuing to use this as the results are already starting to show.

  17. Caroline Johnson (verified owner)

This is a really brilliant balancer. My horse and pony are noticeably more comfortable on their feet and new hoof growth and their coats are better than ever.

  18. Carrie Place (verified owner)

My donkey has this as for many years she has had poor hooves & seedy toe issues. Feeding the Balancer has made a huge difference to her feet along with the hay analysis enabling her to improve her health. I am very grateful for the knowledge & support.

  19. Rhudnags (verified owner)

After searching and searching for the correct balancer for my mare with issues and speaking to the team at forage plus, this balancer was recommended. It ticks all the boxes and reduced how many different tubs I was having to buy and feed, My horse looks fantastic and in much better health since being fed Laminae-Plus, Highly recommended.

  20. Catherine Hardy (verified owner)

I was very pleased to find a balancer suitable for my tiny pony who eats a low sugar diet and whom we manage very carefully. I add a small quantity to her little ‘low cal’ feeds (also with the company’s gutplus supplement added) and am very pleased that she finds it palatable and eats the feeds enthusiastically!

  21. Kelly Elliott (verified owner)

It’s so hard to find a balancer suitable for good doers that have a history of needing to maintain a low sugar diet and need the best hoof support, this is great!

  22. Anne Donald (verified owner)

Tried all sorts of balancers with my pony. He’s very choosy but followed the instructions and introduced gradually with no problems. Tiny handful of feed to act as a carrier for the balancer and he’s licking his bowl clean. Because he’s on a restricted grass diet with a mixture of hay and straw I was concerned he wasn’t getting enough of the vitamins and minerals he needs. This balancer certainly gives peace of mind and he’s looking brilliant on it.

  23. Susan Dixon (verified owner)

I have seen slight improvements to my boy but he hasn’t been using it for long. Going to keep it up and see how it goes

  24. Leanne Watson (verified owner)

Our ponies have been on this balancer for over a year. It’s gives me peace of mind knowing they are getting everything they need whilst being managed on a restricted grass diet and soaked hay. I don’t need to constantly search for other products as I know they are getting their recommended daily allowances, whereas other products don’t always offer this. Their hooves are looking really good with nice tight white lines and it also means I don’t have to give a feed apart from a small carrier. They have no problem with eating the full daily measure.

  25. [email protected] (verified owner)

I struggle to find a suitable balancer for my pony that he will eat so the trial pack was ideal. Introduced the balancer very gradually as suggested. Still not up to recommended dose but he licks the bowl out and is looking good.

  26. Tricia (verified owner)

My 24 year old has thin soles, eats a low sugar diet and needs a low iron diet. She has been on this supplement since January along with Vit E and is for the first time developing more sole. I am thrilled.

  27. nicteach1 (verified owner)

I have a very good doer with tiny feet. She’s on a low sugar & starch diet and in the fatty paddock. This is one of very few balancers that covers this scenario

  28. Becky Jones (verified owner)

Wonderful balancer I find it helps my horse that suffers from EMS enormously during the dangerous spring and summer time

This is an excellent forage balancer. It supplies everything my good doer horse needs. His hooves are growing out so much better since using this.

  31. benas (verified owner)

It’s the balancer of all my 3 horses. I use it based on the recommandation of my nutritionist from France. My 3 horses are fat so i take care of them everyday with forage+ product

  32. kezshad (verified owner)

My lami prone pony has been on this for a long time now. His feet are wonderful, his coat is great and he loves eating this. And the super quick delivery is always appreciated. I won’t use anything else for my pony as he does so we’ll on this.

  33. TanyaManser (verified owner)

My very good doer Fjord is doing really well on this low sugar balancer, together with linseed and seaweed; balancing ForagePlus bagged meadow hay. Sadly, another quality manufacturer’s balancer did not agree with her hooves, but since changing to Laminae-Plus balancer we haven’t looked back. Her feet are growing great quality hoof and I am delighted!

My laminitic Fjord is doing really well on this balancer, together with linseed and seaweed; balancing ForagePlus bagged meadow hay. Sadly, another quality manufacturer’s balancer caused a huge flare-up of laminitis, but since changing to Laminae-Plus balancer we haven’t looked back. Her feet are growing great quality hoof and I am delighted!

  36. Sally Spencer (verified owner)

An excellent balancer for all 4 of my horses. I noticed a positive change in all of them very quickly. I was feeding a balancer I thought was very well formulated but this one takes the biscuit. I will continue with it.

  37. Zelda kerin (verified owner)

Week three using this on my TB who has terrible feet and needs to maintain his white line connection. He is very well in himself on this balancer not gaining weight which is what we want he’s a good doer and big for his breed which puts extra pressure on feet used to use top spec anti lam but didn’t see the results in his feet or coat on that this balancer is easy to feed mixed in with Speedi beet
