We do not send a physical kit for this analysis. Please wait for us to email you the instructions on how to best collect your sample and how to return this to ourselves. This email will also include a link to our form, where you can enter details about your horse(s), this will help us to calculate your bespoke feed recommendations*.

Now you can order both the Nutritional NIR Analysis and our Full Mineral Analysis, together as one bundle!

What will this analysis bundle tell me?

Order and receive both reports in one package. The nutritional report will provide you with a breakdown of the sugars and starch content. We can then advise you if your forage would be suitable for a laminitis prone horse and if soaking is required.

This will also allow Forageplus to decide whether your horse needs additional protein and hard feed or whether just supplementing with minerals will be sufficient to cover all your horses nutritional needs.

The full mineral part of this bundle offers a mineral profile of horse forage, all macro and micro minerals are included. You can then match horse forage minerals to horse grass and balance your horse feed. Mineral reports provided by other companies will often exclude selenium, iodine or chloride.  The report provided by Forageplus is created by a UKAS accredited lab using wet chemistry methods.

The mineral part of analysis for horses includes all the minerals known to be essential in the equine diet, plus levels of antagonist minerals aluminium, lead and molybdenum.

The following elements are included in this mineral analysis for horses:

CalciumCopperCobalt
MagnesiumZincSulphur
PhosphorousSeleniumMolybdenum
SodiumManganeseAluminium
PotassiumIronLead
ChlorideIodine

How much sample do I need?

This Analysis Bundle will require 2 samples of Approx. 100 grams each.

The representative samples will need to be taken from a larger sample which comes from 6 – 10 bales.

Check out our page here on how to best collect your forage samples.

Reports take around 10-14 working days, from the date we receive your forage samples.

Customers from outside the UK wishing to use our service will need to send samples to us at Forageplus, full instructions will be sent via email once we receive your order.

To avoid any extra charges due to increases in lab fees please use any analysis kit, bought from Forageplus, within 6 months of purchase.
