What is Boswellia for Horses?

Boswellia is a powerful equine supplement providing support for joints, ligaments, tendons and cartilage.

Forageplus Boswellia for horses is derived from the Boswellia Carterii tree, native to the Arabian Peninsula and the Horn of Africa.

This equine Boswellia supplement will help to maintain and support comfort in older horses and ponies and also performance horses in competition.

Boswellia for Horses with both resin and powdered form

Forageplus Boswellia is derived from the powdered resin form taken from the Boswellia Carterii tree (Frankincense) and is said to be one of the longest-used traditional medicines dating back 8000 years. This is in part due to it being rich in boswellic acids (terpenes).

Our Boswellia for horses is rich in beta-boswellic acid, a group of triterpenoids which are active ingredients believed to have anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic properties.

Boswellia resin is an anti-inflammatory agent that supports the health of cartilage producing cells, maintains the natural production of cartilage components, and blocks the activity of enzymes that degrade cartilage.

My 17 year old thoroughbred is riddled with arthritis. After vet’s advice either pts or turn out 24/7. We decided to turn him out. Our podiatrist recommended that I use this after using all sorts of other treatments (non medicated) we used this. We have been using it for 3 months now and I’ve noticed a huge change in him. He’s able to move more freely he will never be 100% sound. But keeping him comfortable is all that matters to me

I’m just finishing a bag of this, having observed both my pony & donkey I feel adding this to their diet has help them thrive with their individual issues eg Skin, pain, hoof health. I’m buying another bag to maintain a back up for healing & health.

  5. Briony Bunch (verified owner)

Keeps my 26 year old cob sound enough to enjoy hacking still, which is great as he really doesn’t want to retire completely and loves to go out still.

……And it wasn’t a fluke, same again at the next shoeing cycle 5 weeks later

Started my 19yo 17.2hh ex-eventer on this 3 weeks ago, and today he let the farrier fully extend his front legs for clenching up without snatching them back, for the first time in ages!
