What is whey protein for horses?
Forageplus grass fed whey protein for horses is produced using only premium human-grade whey protein concentrate, delivering a high protein content with a fantastic range and level of amino acids. Many horses benefit from an increase in protein. Extra protein can help with lethargy problems and poor hoof and skin quality.
The benefits of whey protein for horses
Some forages are low in available protein due to a complicated interaction between nitrogen and sulphur levels in the soil. Our grass fed whey protein enables you to target extra protein supplementation without including extra calories. Your horse can therefore continue to enjoy ad-lib hay without the added calorie concerns that feeding more concentrates would entail.
This grass fed whey protein for horses is a rich source of protein concentrate from vegetarian sweet cheese, sourced directly from the world’s leading whey protein manufacturers. Having the highest Biological Value (BV) of any known protein, whey protein concentrate contains high levels of both essential and non-essential Amino Acids.
The manufacturing process utilises a unique combination of membrane filtration technology and drying at low temperatures and pressure. This ensures gentle separation and concentration of the protein and retains its natural function and high nutritional value to give a high-quality whey protein concentrate.
This Whey Protein for horses provides 82g of protein per 100g (dry basis), is low in fat and lactose and is rich in calcium. It is an excellent source of essential amino acids and contains one of the highest proportions of branched-chain amino acids found in natural protein.
Traceability is a key part of our quality monitoring process and to aid this process we source only grass fed, human-grade whey protein.
